on authentic chinese names

baozhu has just entered the latest trend of name calling. not to other people, but herself. one day i saw her worte her name on the nus sports camp form as.......... stefanie.

and i go "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!"

and she said i am jealous or sth.

den i remembered lisan calling herself eve and amelia once! she sms me "hey, i am called amelia now, suit me rite?"

but eve and amelia dun even reflect lisan's character!!! i wan lisan to be the small, fun, pretty and laugh-out-super-loud TAN LISAN.

imagine i dun have an ang moh name. den one day i come to school and say, "hey guys i am josephine from now on k?"

i think all my frens will laugh to death.

if u cant imagine how hilarious and ridiculous the whole thing is, imagine chee tat striking a james bond pose and say "hey girls, i am johnson from now on." (no offence chee tat!! u are jus so innocent i wan to make a joke out of u)

it can be so pretentious!!! why cover up our beautiful meaningful names with sth else?

wanling: her name to me means serene, demure(supposedly anyway), and kind.

hanbing: cool, collected, pratical damsel.

tin mun(tian wen): past life is a dog. lol. means clever and articulate

kimwan(jin wang): funny big ears guy who is clumsy and bangs into walls. means forward looking.

lisan: beautiful, and sporty

baozhu: quirky and blur.

i am not sure wad malisa's qian ling means tho.

i wouldn't want wang to insist on me calling him steve too. i am too used to wang wang.

thank god hanbing and wanling haven tried such heart-attack tricks on me yet. but gosh, i used to like hanbing's name alot!

let us worry not for kong min(kuku), cos his english name is curl, and IT SUITS HIM.
